Horsemen and horsewomen are reminded that September 10 is the deadline for early bird registration for the 2012 Global Symposium on Racing and Gaming presented by the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program. After September 10, the registration price will increase from $495 to $595.
New this year is the Global Simulcast Marketplace, designed to be “the one place where representatives of organizations from around the globe can break down the barriers of time and distance to meet in one place, at one time, to buy and sell their racing product. This is a unique opportunity that enables attendees to expand their business opportunities in the international market of racing distribution.”
The Symposium schedule also includes an E-Verify “Town Hall” Meeting. The program consists of a 10 to 20 minute presentation of the E-Verify program and then a discussion regarding the “best” way to implement and use the program at racetracks. The “Town Hall” should be of particular interest to state horsemen’s association leadership and staff to determine ways to help their membership access and use E-Verify as well as developing “best practices” to ensure compliance. The representatives of the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services also want to capture the concerns and identify issues that audience members have regarding access to E-Verify.
The 39th Symposium, which will also include a full slate of speakers and forums on a variety of topics affecting the racing industry, is set for December 3-6 at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona. For more information, visit www.ua-rtip.org/symposium_racing_gaming.
