DREAM Act Update from Horseman Labor Solutions

The following information is an important notice sent to the National HBPA by our sponsor, Horseman Labor Solutions.

Horseman Labor Solutions has been advising the NHBPA through our conventions and articles in The Horsemen’s Journal on legislation from the federal government regarding immigration and options to gain legal status for backstretch workers.

President Obama has provided immigration relief in the DREAM Act. Horseman Labor Solutions feel that the ability to apply will be short lived. Please post this notice throughout your backstretch and provide the application within your office. Also spread the word as you see fit, via announcements on overnights and over the PA system. It is important to relay to trainers and backside employees that they can trust Horseman Labor Solutions; they are immigration lawyers providing a service to help them.

The intake application captures most of the information needed to complete the DREAM Act application. Obviously each person’s case is unique; Horseman Labor Solutions would like to talk with each applicant. The notice is a prequalification check for individuals that clearly do not qualify.

Also, there is an article in the fall issue of The Horsemen’s Journal discussing immigration, the DREAM Act and the 601 Waiver.

If you have any questions, please contact Will Velie and Craig McDougal directly at 1-877-678-RACE (1-877-678-7223).

To receive the notice for posting with the eligibility requirements or to request a DREAM Act intake form in English or Spanish, please send an e-mail to hj@hbpa.org and the forms will be promptly sent to you as Microsoft Word documents.
