National HBPA's Summer Convention Set to Kick Off in Minnesota

The National HBPA's 2013 Summer Convention, hosted by the Minnesota HBPA, gets underway this Thursday, July 11, at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Shakopee, Minnesota. The semi-annual meeting of the largest racing horsemen's representative association in North America will feature a number of informative speaker forums, committee meetings and an evening for attendees at Canterbury Park (hosted by the racetrack and the Minnesota HBPA). 

The convention kicks off with a cocktail reception on Thursday evening followed by two full days of meetings on Friday and Saturday. Among the topics to be covered are Thoroughbred aftercare, immigration and lobbying, track surfaces, Canterbury Park’s partnership with the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux community, model rules/medication, Clenbuterol and equine exercise physiology. The convention will conclude on Sunday morning with a meeting of the National HBPA's full Board of Directors.
