RTIP Racing and Gaming Symposium Transcripts Now Online

The Race Track Industry Program (RTIP) at the University of Arizona is pleased to announce that the transcripts and PowerPoint presentations from the 2013 Global Symposium on Racing & Gaming are now available online. Materials can be accessed through the program’s website at http://ua-rtip.org/symposium_racing_gaming/2013transcriptsppt_presentations.

Forty-six speakers participated in 12 panels and two workshops during the event held on December 9-12 at the Westin La Paloma Resort. Two key panels on Wednesday and Thursday mornings focused on regulation and its effect on many areas of racing. Also, safety and security were key topics in multiple panels on maintaining a safe racing surface, safety of our equine retirees, creating a secure work environment and cyber security. The engine that drives our business–the bettors–were also featured on several panels about handicapping contests, the new Esquire show “Horseplayers” and how to present the best data to our customers.

The transcripts and other media are free to access and use for research. Reporters wishing to use them for publication must contact the Race Track Industry Program at (520) 621-5660.
