Winners Federation Schedules Annual Professional Conference at Hilton Garden Inn, Georgetown, Kentucky, April 4-5, 2011

Seeking to improve the health and lives of horse racetrack employees, backstretch workers and horse farm personnel, the Winners Federation will hold its annual Professional Conference at the Hilton Garden Inn, Georgetown, Kentucky, April 4-5, 2011. Under the theme Healthy Workers for Healthy Horses, the Winners Federation Professional Conference offers professional development and continuing education for those who care for the human side of the horse racing industry -- counselors, chaplains, security personnel, affiliated professionals, interested organizations and racetrack management.

The Winners Federation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization directed by a diverse Board of Directors committed to furthering the goal of Healthy Workers for Healthy Horses. Not only is a healthy, non-impaired worker a better employee capable of making safe decisions about the care of the horse; but also a healthy and stable employee lowers costs for health care, accidents, workers compensation, and turnover.

The 2011 Winners Federation Professional Conference will consist of presentations by credentialed and qualified professionals on alcohol and substance abuse services, problem gambling, creating and sustaining racetrack wellness and counseling programs, and the linkage between the racetrack chaplain and counseling professionals.

The 2011 Winners Federation Professional Conference will immediately precede the 2011 Racetrack Chaplaincy of America annual conference and meeting, also to be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, April 5-11.
