Important Claiming Crown Nomination Deadline Less than a Month Away

All horsemen are reminded that November 9 is the deadline for nominated trainers to nominate horses to the $850,000 Claiming Crown to be run December 1 at Gulfstream Park in Florida. A total of 274 trainers paid the $100 nomination fee by August 31 to become eligible to nominate horses to the Claiming Crown for 0.2% of the race purse.

Eligible trainers may nominate horses to Claiming Crown races on or before November 9. In a change from prior years, both the horse and Claiming Crown race must be named at the time of nomination.

Trainers who are not nominated to the Claiming Crown may still nominate a horse for 5.0% of the race purse by November 28.
